Residents along the south-west border of Seely Park determined that there should be a gate to close off the park entrance at night. They brought their idea to the Park Board. Staff worked with the community to find a way to meet their needs and enhance the aesthetics of the park at the same time. This award is more about partnering with the community to solve a problem than it is about a fence. However, the new fence stands as a memorial to how government and the community can work together to address community needs in a positive beneficial manner.
